Can I listen to non-local radio stations live online?

I'm in Singapore and am here attempting to connect to a san diego's radio station and its taking erm quite forever to connect. But..can't I or am i just being plain silly? Where is the furthest place i can get myself connected to? I'm getting tired of locals..

2. If you have a high speed Internet connection, you should be able to connect to Internet radio stations from around the world. Two other options require special equipment: international short wave (has been in existence 50+ years) or satellite radio
3. Yes, most stations carry their broadcast live on the net and you should be able to listen. Broadband connection would help otherwise the amount of buffering will make it unbearable to listen. Just try another station.
