How Can I Record Streaming Audio from a Radio Station? I have to work during a program that I like to listen to; the program is on a station in another state, and online is the only way that I can access it and listen to it. Is it possible to record it so that I can listen later? I'd appreciate recommendations on software to do this, as well. Thanks!
Can streaming radio/audio slow a server? I have just been told by a coworker that I am not to listen to audio streams any longer because the streams are making the server too slow. Is this possible? There are several people in the building that listen to streams all day everyday. Could we be slowing the server down? I have heard of a slow server interfering with stream reception but that is not the issue. The stream is working fine. Thanks for your help!

I want to start an internet radio station. I need to find hosting companies that host streaming audio? I want to start and internet radio station and a lot of hosting companies do not host streaming audio. I went to one that did and found that their customer service lacks tact and patience. I have never tried anything like this before and the program I want to use for the streaming audio needs 50 GB bandwidth. I found with my old hosting company has more than enough bandwidth but does not host streaming audio or video. Any suggestions?

Free Internet Radio Audio Streaming? we have a business that needs to be monitored at all times. Why aren't there a lot of high quality streaming audio sites? Now i'm just wondering....because on itunes you get the 1000 kbps (exaggeration) and on streaming radio you only get like 100 kbps. It really doesn't sound as good and I need to turn up my speakers way more than I'm used to. Is there some kind of audio site that has an itunes-like quality to it?
Why wont my streaming audio work for online radio? I've tried in several different browsers, but to no avail. The pop up box will come up but when i hit play, it trys to connect...then nothing. It's not the site, i can access it from work. Help!! I've got DSL and I haven't had a problem with the speed of the connection in the past (but thanks anyway!). I do think it may have something to do with the plug ins. Let's take Yahoo Music for example...that won't work for me. Where can I find the plug in for that? Thanks!!!

Live audio streaming (internet radio): How are the sample rates of transmitter and receiver brought in line? After all the sample rate has to be equal, in order to avoid gaps and congestions in the receiver. Data must be consumed at exactly the same speed as it is produced. No, the transmitter cannot slow down its "data production clock", since it is a live audio production. Instead, the receiver should vary its "data consumption clock". Is there anyway to play live streaming audio from a radio website on an iPhone? Background: My old phone (and I mean really old phone) was able to access radio channels like a regular radio. When I was out somewhere without a radio I used my phone's radio. I liked to listen to one station in particular: Classical KUSC 91.5 FM and, as I got my new iphone, I wondered how I was to continue listening to that channel when I was out and without a radio. I remembered that they had a website where you could listen to their channel on a computer. So I've tried going onto the website on the iPhone to see if I could access that channel on it. I listen to streaming audio of my fire departments' radio, (I just retired after 31 years), have for many mont quiet audio except when a streaming transmission is beginning, just began, new yahoo mail, popping sound with any audio action. Thought it was related to the stream but all clicks of the mouse stc. cause it now, tried all 4 players which stream it. They all display same popping. Went to audio setup in sytem, nothing but quality changes. What I do notice though,,,,,,, is when I go to LOG INTO MYYAHOO or YAHOO MAIL there is the same ADVERT SCREEN for the NEW YAHOO MAIL signup!!!!! BUT NOW, I DO A DOUBLE TAKE,,, AND NOTICE,,,, IT TELLS ME I CAN "GET RID OF THE ANNOYING "POPPING SOUND" if I dounload it. Sounds like extortion #1>>>> but I TRIED IT ---- Didn't work. Startin" to seem like the kind of reasons why I left AOL 5 YEARS AGO>>>>>> anybody else notice??? Have help/Advice ???

That plays less edgy alternative rock, like Ben Folds Five, Counting Crows, Jason Mraz, Cake, Elvis Costello, Cowboy Junkies, Jack Johnson, The fray, Goo Goo dolls, Green Day, Guster, Ben Harper, The Killers. They don't play this stuff on the radio where I live.....I miss BOSTON. Why can't I receive streaming audio on my system? I am using Live Meeting to participate in Webcasts put out my Microsoft. It uses the Windows Media Player to broadcast the streaming audio. I am unable to connect to this audio. I get an error stating it can't find the server and to check that I am connected to the network. I have checked all of my players settings, made sure Multicast, UDP, TCP, and HTTP are all checked. My security zone is set at Medium which is the reccomended setting. I can receive streaming audio from radio stations and streaming video with audio via the player. My webcam receives streaming audio just fine, the firewall shows no problems either, nothing is showing as blocked, nor any errors or announcements of a program attempting to access my computer. Just nothing, and the error. I am hoping somebody here will be able to tell me what I need to do to fix this, as it has to be my computer, not the Live Meeting program, as other participants receive the streaming audio without incident. Please suggest ideas, thanks

Capture of streaming online radio broadcasts? There are a number of radio shows on a US station that I like and now that I am no longer living in that area I cannot receive them other then online through streaming audio on the radio station's website. It works great but given the time difference I'm not often able to catch them when they are on. Is there any program I can use to capture these streaming audio broadcasts like I can listen to them later on when I want to? I'm not looking to rebroadcast or share anything. I just want to be able to listen to these shows when I have the time. My computer's audio makes popping/squeaking noises when it plays streaming audio. Is this a codec issue? For the past month, my XP system has been making weird popping/squeaking noises whenever I play any form of streaming audio: radio stations, Sirius, FineTune, YouTube, it all goes through the same thing. The noises seem to coincide with whenever the hard drive is accessed. Do I need to reinstall an audio codec or something? It's not a bandwidth issue because I have no problem with the laptops connected wirelessly to our router. Plus, everything was fine a few months ago, this issue just started recently.

Help with streaming audio/video please!? This weekend I began having problems w/my streaming audio/video. Either plays for about 4-5 min., then drop out. The audio (radio stations) will say 'buffering' for about a minute, then start up again, while video hangs up and won't play until I move slider bar back a few seconds in the program, then it may kick in. (sites like video.msn.com/cbs.com hang, but freemoviesonline streams w/o issue, so it's not consistent).Had no issue streaming for hours b4. The only thing I know I did downloading-wise (I swear, EVERY freakin' time I download/update something, something gets fouled up...) was WMP 11 update(since removed)/latest downloads for my ATI Radeon 9800 graphics card. I don't think any of the streaming I run use either of these, but as far as I know these were the only changes I've made prior to having issue. I've rolled back to previous version of WMP, cleared cookies, ran scans, CCleaner, tried Firefox, reset modem, reset comp., etc., but still having the issue. Please help!

how can i download mp3 segments of streaming audio? i was curious about how to do this. there's a radio broadcast with an archived performance in streaming audio that i can't find anywhere else. it's a free broadcast so i don't think there'd be a problem downloading it, if only there were a way, which i'm sure there is. can anybody help? it's basically a file that plays in windows media player. but it is streaming. any ideas? thanks in advance.
