How come I can no longer recieve AOL radio OR Launch cast CBS Radio in NZ? I always used to stream Launch Cast (CBS ) or AOL radio and loved to listen to KMLE Tim and Willy's country and Classic KMPS HD2 and other fab, stations but these all seem to be blocked to New Zealand and that useless LAST FM comes up on the screen instead and it's crapp! I WANT TO STREAM LAUNCH CAST CBS or AOL RADIO why can't I
Boycott CBS Radio! Former 97.1 free fm listeners, what are you listening to now? First they took Frosty Heidi and Frank away so I had nothing to listen to at work. So I decided to stream my Yahoo radio station that I have been building for the past 5 freaking years, and gues what, IT IS GONE! There's a disclaimer on the page that says they are now owned by CBS radio (Those bastards!) and can no longer offer personalized stations. WTF is going on? If you were a 97.1 free fm fan, what are you listening to now?
Why can't CBS do a better mash-up? Important Notice Regarding Discontinuation of LAUNCHcast Plus Service and Refund Program Greetings, Beginning in February 2009, CBS Radio will power LAUNCHcast Radio. LAUNCHcast Radio will still be accessible from the Yahoo! site. However, it will be hosted and operated by CBS Radio rather than by Yahoo!. As part of the transition to CBS Radio, the LAUNCHcast Plus premium service will be closing on February 12, 2009. As a subscriber to LAUNCHcast Plus, you will continue to have access to your premium subscription features until February 12, 2009. If there is any time left on your subscription account after February 12, you will automatically receive a prorated refund for any remaining subscription time. To ensure proper delivery of any prorated refunds, we strongly encourage you to check your account information and make sure everything is accurate and up-to-date. You can access your LAUNCHcast Plus account information here: http://billing.yahoo.com Even though the LAUNCHcast Plus subscription service will be discontinued, you will still have access to most of your favorite preprogrammed LAUNCHcast stations through the new CBS Radio-powered experience. The difference is that those radio stations will be supported by advertising and there will no longer be a commercial-free option.1 With LAUNCHcast Radio powered by CBS Radio, you will also get access to some new features, including a new streaming radio player and CBS Radio's wide variety of local music, news, talk, and sports programming. The new radio player will also be compatible with Macintosh computers and Firefox and Safari browsers. Not all existing LAUNCHcast features will continue, however. Your custom "My Station" and "Moods" stations will no longer be available after February 12, 2009. Additionally, you will no longer be able to add "Influencers" to your personalized "My Station." There is no need to cancel or do anything with your service to make the transition to CBS Radio. Yahoo! will not transfer any of your account information to CBS Radio. You will not have to pay for the new LAUNCHcast service since it will be supported by advertising. We hope you will enjoy our new radio experience and the broader range of radio stations that it will bring. MORE INFORMATION For more information about LAUNCHcast Radio and the changes to the service, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions. 1Radio station line up is subject to change and we cannot guarantee that all stations will be available after the transition to CBS Radio.
What expenses are associated with streaming radio? I have been listening to my favorite local radio station (a WCBS affiliate) while I have been traveling out of the US for the past year. Suddenly today I got a message that it was unavailable at my current location. When I emailed CBS, their response was: we no longer stream out broadcasts outside of the United States. Due to rising costs, it is no longer financially wise for us to do so. So, my question is, what are the expenses associated with streaming radio and why might a station cease to make the stream available outside of the US? Thanks! This was the response I received: We no longer stream out broadcasts outside of the United States. Due to rising costs, it is no longer financially wise for us to do so. -------------------------- J. Now that Y! radio is in bed with CBS we get WFAN New York, will they black out the Mets? FAN is the Mets flagship station. I wonder if MLB will stop them from streaming the Mets games live through Yahoo.
why do American Networks and online radio stations limit their online streaming to other countries? I am a Canadian citizen and I am extremely frustrated with all the restricted content that i cant view online on American sites. for example i cant view videos on Hulu.com, nbc, abc, cbs, mtv.com , fox etc. i cant even stream certain American radio stations that i listened to before (ex. kiss fm LA). Why all the restrictions? i am able to watch nbc, abc, cbs, fox, and mtv. i give them ratings but yet for online content i am not given the same treatment to view their content online. i don't see any harm in viewing content like behind the scene and full episodes of show i give ratings to and watch on my tv. ps. i have also found some country restrictions on websites like youtube and veoh. can they do that?
Help with streaming audio/video please!? This weekend I began having problems w/my streaming audio/video. Either plays for about 4-5 min., then drop out. The audio (radio stations) will say 'buffering' for about a minute, then start up again, while video hangs up and won't play until I move slider bar back a few seconds in the program, then it may kick in. (sites like video.msn.com/cbs.com hang, but freemoviesonline streams w/o issue, so it's not consistent).Had no issue streaming for hours b4. The only thing I know I did downloading-wise (I swear, EVERY freakin' time I download/update something, something gets fouled up...) was WMP 11 update(since removed)/latest downloads for my ATI Radeon 9800 graphics card. I don't think any of the streaming I run use either of these, but as far as I know these were the only changes I've made prior to having issue. I've rolled back to previous version of WMP, cleared cookies, ran scans, CCleaner, tried Firefox, reset modem, reset comp., etc., but still having the issue. Please help!

What happened to the WHFS 2 website? You used to be able to stream HFS 2 in HD live from CBS radio on their website. What happened to it? Does anyone know where to hear the station online?
Can you spare some peanuts to send to CBS to save "Jericho"? http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/06/06/jericho.cancellation.ap/index.html 'Jericho' fans assail CBS with 25 tons of peanuts LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Fans trumpeting the cause of CBS' canceled drama "Jericho" have caught the network's ear. CBS, deluged with calls, messages and shipments of nuts signifying viewer displeasure, is reconsidering its decision, a source close to the production said Tuesday. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly. A decision on whether to bring the show back, probably for a midseason run, is imminent, the source said. "We are tired of the networks (not just CBS) tossing aside quality programming," was the message carried by jericholives.com, one of several Web sites protesting the cancellation. "Enough! We're going to fight for this one." Clarke Ingram, a "Jericho" fan from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a spokesman for jericholives, said he was optimistic that CBS would find a way to revive the drama about a Kansas town isolated by a nuclear terrorist attack. "People would paint this as teenagers in tinfoil hats" rallying behind the show, said Ingram, 50, an operations manager for two radio stations. "That's not what this is. These are educated professionals." The show's daring premise, its writing and acting make the case for its survival, he said. Several factors could work in the show's favor: It appeals to the young adult viewers sought by advertisers and was one of CBS' most popular shows streamed online, indicating an audience beyond that measured by traditional ratings. CBS may also be considering the dent a long hiatus put in the show's viewership, the same scheduling misstep that hurt ABC's "Lost" and NBC's "Heroes." The network apparently has been impressed by the display of viewer passion, which included the delivery of 50,000 pounds of peanuts to its New York offices. In the season finale, a character replies "Nuts!" to a demand that the beleaguered town of Jericho surrender. That's the same response that a U.S. general in World War II made to a German demand for surrender at the Battle of the Bulge. There's already been one positive outcome: CBS is donating the protest peanuts to charities, including one that sends care packages to troops overseas.
Who will win the Grammy 4 Best Female R&B Vocal Performance? The nominees are... "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" Beyoncé "It Kills Me" Melanie Fiona "That Was Then" Lalah Hathaway "Goin' Thru Changes" Ledisi "Lions, Tigers, & Bears" Jazmine Sullivan Previously, I've been listenin' to "The Element of Freedom," Alicia Keys' brand new album. So new that it just missed the Grammys' eligibility year for nomination. I did just buy the CD this week & I predict it'll be #1 on the Billboard 200. Better luck in MMX, Alicia! I'm 100% sure she'll be nomin8d & 90% sure she'll win. Currently, I'm listening to "That Was Then" on YouTube. This apple didn't fall far from Donny Hathaway's tree, doncha no? I'm somewhat embarrassed that I don't take too much time to listen to some good R&B radio stations via streaming audio on their websites like one from Milwaukee, & I'm stuck w/ a hip-hop station, where the only regular R&B divas are Keys, Beyonce, & Keyshia Cole (& I haven't heard "Playa Cardz Right" on Hot 94.1!) & I've seen Sullivan in a Cotton commercial. That brings to mind my pick; Beyonce wins here. But at least while she's still on = terms w/ Lalah, Ledisi, Jazmine, & Melanie as nominees, I'm taking the time here to listen to their stuff on Youtube, & it is good stuff, I'll say that. Next on Youtube? "It Kills Me." Incidentally, the A-Rod of "CSI:Miami," Adam Rodriguez, guest stars on this video. So who do you like? Will Beyonce avoid a upset? Holler, all you Jazmine, Ledisi, Melanie, & Lalah fanz! The 52nd Grammys take place January 31 on CBS.
Why is the main stream media so conservative? Myth: The U.S. has any liberal media. Fact: The media are being increasingly monopolized by parent corporations with pro-corporate or conservative agendas. The U.S. media are rapidly being monopolized by a dwindling number of parent corporations, all of whom have conservative economic agendas. The media are also critically dependent upon corporations for advertising. As a result, the news almost completely ignores corporate crime, as well as pro-labor and pro-consumer issues. Surveys of journalists show that the majority were personally liberal in the 1980s, but today they are centrists, with more conservatives than liberals on economic issues. However, no study has proven that they give their personal bias to the news. On the other hand, the political spectrum of pundits -- who do engage in noisy editorializing -- leans heavily to the right. The most extreme example of this is talk radio, where liberals are almost nonexistent. The Fairness Doctrine was designed to prevent one-sided bias in the media by requiring broadcasters to air opposing views. It once enjoyed the broad support of both liberals and conservatives. But now that the media have become increasingly owned and controlled by corporations, conservatives defiantly oppose the Fairness Doctrine. This is probably the best proof that the media's bias is conservative, not liberal. ABC NBC CBS CNN FOX ALL CONSERVATIVE Rob you make outrageous claims like (although it had a definite liberal slant), with zero evidence and expect me to take you seriously... Get real The stations used to have a great number of monetary influences, now some have single owners getting advertising dollars from fewer and fewer sources which only supports what I said. Air America failed because no corporation were going to give them advertising dollars talking about corporate crime, income inequality, poverty, etc.. But don't let facts get in the way of spreading the liberal media conspiracy theories.... http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/L-liberalmedia.htm Great article spread it everywhere.
Chicago Tribune Bankrupt: Is the "Old Media" Finished? The New York Times lays off hundreds. The LA Times cuts half of its Editorial Staff. CBS Evening News drawing 5 million viewers.... Add revenues in the tank... And many other indicators that tell us that the MSM Main Stream Media is rapidly losing ground to the Conservative/ alternative media like: Talk Radio, the Internet, and of course Fox News Channel, all growing rapidly at the expense of the NY Slimes, Clinton News Network, PMSNBC, and the Washingtom comPost. Have the folks finally had their fill of Liberal Media Bias? A reaction to the "gotcha interogation" interview of conservative Sarah Palin and the NY Times smear attemps on McCain? Must I mention the "tinggly feelings" certain TV news "jounalists" feel when Obama speaks???? What say you America? Please opine if so inclined...and no bloviating in the No Spinn Zone with Bill O. Chi-guy...sir, you are a pinhead!
What happened to WHFS 2? whfs2.com is black, what is going on with that site? The site whfs2.com went black in the middle of February 2 days after it was gutted, and reduced to only a link to the stream. It was strange, but ok, as long as it still played music..Then with no explanation 2 days later it went dead in the middle of the day. What is going on? The station after being resurrected on 105.7 was very good, much better than it had been on 99.1 FM toward the end....then they took away HFS on 105.7, but at least there was HFS2, so I bought an HD radio just so i could listen to this station. The playlist was huge. There were more songs active than I've heard on HFS in a long time. Spam was doing a great job as programming director, he actually listened to what people wanted to hear, and played it. The station was better than ever. Then it was inexplicably gone! I've heard things from, the server crashed to, corporate pulled the station! That is such and outrage! It would be the 3rd time CBS has screw up that station, this time when it was at is best. Does anyone know what is going on with HFS 2? I can't get an answer from 105.7 on the old whfs.com site, or from CBS.
