What about Tony Stewart's apology to NASCAR? Does anybody feel like I do that he was forced to make it or not being able to race. Nascar officials would not allow Joe Gibbs team to unload the #20 car until Tony met with Nascar officials ? It was soon after that he apologized about his comments on his radio station. Nascar called his comments "highly imflamatory" and that they questioned NASCARS credibility. Now, he faces disciplinary actions later today. In other words, heaven help. if anyone questions Nascar on their actions. Does NASCAR think us fans are all morons or what? The last I knew, we still lived in "the land of the free".

Copyrights of NASCAR public timing data for statistical software? At nascar.com during a race you can follow the lap times of all the drivers for free, it's public. They have a paid product that does a little more, like replaying the races, 3D, radio conversations and so on. My question is, can I use their free public data to create a smart phone app which is going to be showing live stats for any driver you choose from this race? All the data will be calculated from the public lap times shown on nascar.com. It will just show statistics like which lap was the last pit stop, a graph of the driver's progress through the field, the last X number of laps, best drafting partner and so on. Neither of these stats are shown on the paid nascar.com, but they can be calculated just from the public data from nascar.com. Also would it make a difference if the smart phone app is paid or free? Thanks a lot in advance! P.S. There won't be any use of the NASCAR brand names in the name of the app!
